New changes are not good. please make them options

Post by phaze3131 »

so for year and half the t 9 has been perfect and I just updated the ap today to find some awkward changes. the apostrophe is no longer the number one key which it is on any standard t 9 phone and how it used to be on this one...till today's update. T

he exclamation point also changed and the question mark also. please make these changes as options to the user instead of having it one way for a year and half and then all the sudden switching it.

TY alot!

I agree! Please change it so the apostrophe can be selected as the 1 spot. But especially, please change the pop ups to be an option!!! I like having the option to long press to get a number without having to select it from a list. And when the long press options are open, nothing can be done without closing it first by use of the X. Very annoying!

Thanks,
KC

I agree, the apostrophe's position change is a major annoyance on this update. I also liked having a long press on the '?' to get exclamation mark.

Please change back, or at least make this customizable. Please!

I can go back to the previous layout, but can you explain why exactly you need so much the apostrophe in english? It's added automatically by the dictionary (dont -> don't" for instance)

Well, there should be no X! It means you disabled the advanced option "Slide popup keyboard", which is off by default. All languages except english have popups, and nobody complains about this.

because "don't" is not the same as "foot"

"don't" is 36618

"foot" is 3668
can't, about
i'd,if

There are many many examples of this but in t9 the combinations of numbers matters alot for someone who has consistently used t9 for the past 10 years.

Also the long pressing of numbers is not working (like I can't get a 1 to come up for the life of me), I'm not sure why you changed this.

Also the exclamation point or getting multiple ones to come up is just awful.

Can you please not make changes so drastic to your awesome app that completely changes how we have to type, make them options, its so much easier for people.

This is alot better but still having problems with long press of the number 1 key to get a number one like trying to get 123 to enter there.

Also other long presses of numbers to get numbers like 745 works sometimes but other times it will show letters in there.

Besides that thanks for going back to the other version :)

Here's another vote to add an option to return to the previous behavior, where a long press generated the numeric digit and not the popup selection. For those of us using the "old" T9 portrait keyboard behavior, we're very accustomed to this type of behavior and the recent change slows us down substantially.

With a success app like yours, you're going to have difficulty changing anything without offering the option of reverting to the previous behavior. Otherwise, you're going to have some number of previous, paid customers who voice an objection. This is the cost of success... :-)

It was my fault. I am the one who suggested changes on the characters, but that was not the intention of the developer..i believe hes making it better to all of us who paid for this great app. the only thing that i want to have (personally) is the @ sign, & sign, _ underscore characters available on the main T9 layout. Because I'm not using the T9 dictionary all the time. Sumtyms i snd msgs lyk ds way & login to email accounts frequently and it happened underscore _ and @ sign are used more frequently. If the changes made by the developer isn't good for you, let's just continue to be good with him all the time.

sorry if it causes a lot of trouble who uses the earlier versions of the app.

-public apology.

Wow. And I thought it was a pretty good change to have several punctuations in the 1 key albeit redundant with all the several punctuation at the sides.
I believe I also contributed to that suggestion some time back. However, I was suggesting more towards an alternative T9 layout. Getting rid of the punctuations at the side and consolidating them into the 1 key. But hey, you guys have spoken, and I've grown very used to the QWERTY layout with this very good keyboard. Thumbs up!
