I am using the Dvorak layout, and I have the app set to use the Compact layout when in Portrait mode. When I'm in Landscape I see the Dvorak keyboard, but when I'm in Portrait I see a Sholes keyboard (AKA "QWERTY").
Initially I thought maybe only the Sholes key layout was supported in Compact layout but I tried switching to some other keyboard layouts and it seems that when I'm using these other layouts the keys are arranged as expected in Compact layout - in both German layouts I get QWERTZ as expected, and in the AZERTY layout I see AZERTY across the top.
I'm using a DROID X running Froyo.

Yes, actually most of the layouts are supported in compact mode, but not all. DVORAK is one of the unsupported layouts at the moment..
