I am also getting just a black skin for both the GlossBlack and the 3DKey skins. The Droid skin works just fine however, so I'm pretty sure I'm copying everything over correctly.

EDIT: if it matters, I'm using a rooted cdma hero with cm6 nightly #99 (froyo)

This may be answered elsewhere in the forum but I sadly don't have time to go through all the posts so here's my question: I would like to try out some of the skins that other people are making and playing with - is there a central area where I can go to and find them so I can add them to my SD card to use?

Thanks! :) Wendi

OK it's time to do things seriously, I will put links on the web site so that it's easier for everyone (and test them before so that you don't get black skins ;) )

YES!!!

this happens with these two skins exactly (GlossBlack and the 3DKey skins)!

I created those and tested them on the EVO. Anyone else having issues? I'll take a look and post new versions later today.

Link: that's right, your skin doesn't work on MDPI phones, I get this error:

Code: Select all

W/System.err( 296): com.dexilog.openskin.NinePatchUtilities$NinePatchException: invalid pixel found at x=4,y=0: D7000000
W/System.err( 296): at com.dexilog.openskin.NinePatchUtilities.decodeNinePatchDrawable(NinePatchUtilities.java:75)
W/System.err( 296): at com.dexilog.openskin.OpenSkin.loadDrawable(OpenSkin.java:319)
One of your images in drawable directory is invalid

By the way, I will create a "skins" section in the forum, it will be easier

OK, I understand... it seems you scaled your hdpi images to build the mdpi images, but this doesn't work ;) you need to create the 1-pixel border properly

And I just moved this topic to the new "Open Skins" forum. From new please create one topic for each skin, as this topic starts to become a mess ;)

That's what I figured and will post new ones shortly.

Sorry for the issues and delay. I have updated the original posts with new ZIP files.

You can find them here:

GlossBlack: http://www.dexilog.com/smartkeyboard/fo ... 2614#p2614

3DKey: http://www.dexilog.com/smartkeyboard/fo ... 2749#p2749

Well, the 3DKey skin now works, and looks great by the way. Unfortunately, I'm still getting a plain black skin for the GlossBlack. Using a cdma hero, so mdpi.

Thanks again, though, for revisiting these and helping make them work on more phones. I, for one, really appreciate it. I'm really liking the 3DKey right now.
