What version of Android are you on? I tried to replicate the issue again and was able to do so.
Tried on Froyo and Gingerbread (CM7). Must be a side effect of some other setting you changed...

After uninstalling and reinstalling the keyboard and not backing up any settings or dictionaries, I still have the issue every single time for every single word I add to AutoText. I've also tried it on Froyo and Eclair versions of Android and it's the same, repeatable issue. Upon some further testing, it only seems to be happening with words that are in the English for Smart Keyboard dictionary as well as my AutoText (I say this since I assume July and breezy are both in that dictionary based on the words working correctly before anything is added to the User Dictionary or AutoText). My shortcuts such as "bo" expanding to Black Ops or "ily" expanding to "I love you" work flawlessly, even when typed out in completion. It might be worth noting too that my shortcuts always place the "bo" or "ily" to the left of what it thinks I want, which is the expanded version, the same way the dictionary seems to think I want Brewster or July's when I type out "Breezy" or "July". I don't know how much more troubleshooting I can do to find the root of the issue since I'm able to repeat it on 3 different versions of Android, always with the same words, all the exact same way, all with fresh installs of the application with no settings or dictionary modifications.

I'm still unable to reproduce your problem, even after reinstalling completely the app... Maybe you can backup your settings to the SD card, and send me your file /sdcard/smartkeyboardpro/backup.zip to smartkeyboard at dexilog.com, so that I can see which settings you have. And can you confirm that the problem is that when type "breezy", it doesn't suggest "Breezy"?

OK I didn't get that your problem was only at the beginning of a sentence (or when you try to capitalize the word yourself). However if you just add "Breezy" to your user dictionary (which is the natural method btw) and don't try to do anything with custom autotext, everything seems to work.

I did a few more little tests to discover that haha.

That doesn't solve the issue that I want the word to always be suggested and spelled out upon a word delimiter as "Breezy". I know that adding "Breezy" to the custom User Dictionary will make it an available option but it does not change the fact that the issue persists with all first words that are in the custom AutoText. I have it in the AutoText because I always want it to be given to me as "Breezy", much the same way that I want the days of the week and months capitalized, as is in my other custom AutoText.

I have also tried turning off the "Quick Fixes" setting but this makes it so that all autocorrect doesn't work, both built-in and custom. Being that I rarely ever use suggestions because I type so fast, it's more beneficial to me to have a keyboard that corrects my mistakes, rather than suggests words to me. The suggestions part of the keyboard is getting in my way much of the time. Even if I turn off the "show suggestions" feature, it just hides the suggestions but doesn't turn off the word replacement that happens. If you notice when typing things like "Id" or "Im", even when typed out correctly as "I'd" and "I'm", the keyboard always suggests the right form of the word, even on first words. This inclines me to think that the custom AutoText dictionary words are not being treated as equals with the words that are built-in.

Being that I am technically inclined and did dev work on WebOS, maybe you could point me to the location of the built-in dictionary so I could edit it myself and skip the Custom AutoText feature altogether?
