I am having a problem when I select the georgian language all the keys on the keyboard show up as blocks instead of the respective symbol.

I have the latest version of Smart Keyboard
Sony Experia X10I with android 2.1 firmware.

What is the correct procedure to get the Georgian language to work?

you need to install a font supporting Georgian, which is not the case in stock Android ROMs. But you have to root your phone... (check this for instance).
