Captcha

I recently was logged in to my account with Tapatalk and now I can't login because of captcha. It's the same when I login on here with a browser.

I get an error message like this:

You exceeded the maximum allowed number of login attempts. In addition to your username and password you now also have to solve the CAPTCHA below.

Please fix this.

Removing the captcha would result in an explosion of spam posts, which I am dealing with plenty already. I was going to implement another captcha to further stop spam, but maybe I can find another way to prevent spam.

That said, this error message should only come up when an incorrect username/password have been entered. Apparently it does not with Tapatalk. I use an actual internet browser to navigate forums so I do not have this issue.

Hi all, I've just begun to experience this also and it is most annoying! I've now logged in via browser and yet I still get the "captcha" message in tapatalk, which is made worse by the fact that this forum practically begs me to install tapatalk! Do note, I don't have this issue with the many other forums I belong to.

I just joined, and just installed Tapatalk as well.. I didn't know which was borked, I was about to throw my Android against a wall because of this BS.
Bad choice for my first tapatalk forum.
There are other ways to avoid spammers besides captchas, like using stopforumspam or fassim plugins.

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who doesn't like captcha.

I am a moderator, not an admin. If I were an admin, I would have done something about it. (Cyril has not replied to this thread so I am assuming you meant me.)

You are the nearest person to a the admin who discovered this post and this problem in April and till now there is no solution or response.
the whole captcha thing is broken imho. i get it no matter if i type in the right or the wrong password (in chrome).

I would like to get active again but with this kind of support i ask myself if it is worth the time.

Please talk to Cyril so not 10 other people have to.
This whole captcha thing is a huge problem with tapatalk.

really no offence but 3 months without a single post for a solution is just not very community friedly.

I can't do anything about it as a moderator. I don't have the access permissions to change the captcha. I don't have any contact information for cyril besides PM (which we all have). I have sent him a few PMs regarding spam and captcha, but he has not responded. I have no more power with this then you do. I have not responded to this thread for 3 months because nothing changed. If there was something more I could do about it, I would have already done it.
