I bought the app from the website and thought I'd check for updates then tried to update but it wouldn't download all it said was "Starting download" so I stopped it. How can I update without going to Android Market?

I'm bumping this because no one has replied and I really need help.

This is a load of --. I've been waiting over a month for an answer on this but no one seems to give a --. So for the lack of customer service you revs can all go -- yourselves.

Unfortunately, the dev is AWOL. He hasn't been here or on his twitter or facebook since January.
So there isn't much anyone can do....
I did send him an email....
Anyway, I did find some info in the FAQ for you. See if it works

Applications not downoading/updating is a Market issue that happens every once in a while. You have, I assume, tried stopping and restarting the download. Now try some combination of clearing Market application data in Settings > Manage Applications and rebooting. Also try over a different network (WiFi, etc).

If none of that works then uninstall the application and reinstall the latest version.

Ok here's the problem. Anything bought outside the android market doesn't update and it says the app failed to update because I don't own it but I actually do. If I had of bought it using the market app I wouldn't have this problem. So is it possible if someone could give me a link to download the new version cos I'm sure not going to uninstall it and buy it again.

Ah. Well then, if cyril ever decides to login again, maybe he can refund your original purchase and you can buy it in the Android Market- that is my only idea. Unless whatever app market you are using remembers that you have bought paid applications- for example, in the Android Market and iTunes, once you have bought anything (apps, music, books, movies, etc) you can remove it from the device and redownload it later for free. I have done this with several music and applications. So just check to see if your app market allows this kind of thing, which it should.


I cannot provide a link to download the paid version because that would violate a number of things, and you would still not be able to update the application if a future update comes.

Just wondering if Cyril is back online cos I need to solve this problem cos I still can't update with Play store.
