Priority words

Post by mobi »

When using "text suggestions" does the Smart Keyboard prioritise the words/letters that you use often?
For example, the names in the contacts seems to be at the top of the list of text suggestions but would this change over time?
Or if you want to write "x" at the end, "y" always comes up first but the more you use "x" prioritise it?

If so, is there perhaps a setting for it?

Thanks in advance! :)

Priority changes as you type, if you use the "smart dictionary" option. However contacts have initially a big priority, so it will take time to have their priority shift. But maybe you can just disable the contacts dictionary...
Single letters are not affected by the smart dictionary, but you can use custom AutoText to replace "y" by "x" for instance.

tnx Cyril!
I do have the smart dictionary on! so that is what it is for then! I will be patient and wait then. If it takes too long, I will consider adding contact names into the dictionary myself... although it would double work for someone who uses multiple dictionaries.... but then it's done once in for all of course :)
Very creative about AutoText! I'll try!
Thanks again!

Wait... is it in T9? Then you have to define w -> x, not y -> x

Oh wow tnx cyril, yes it's T9... I seem to type the fastest with this.
I don't understand why it works tho (cause when I press "9", "y" comes up and not "w")... but it works!
Thanks!
