Doesn't work in Landscape mode

I just downloaded the trial version to see if this program is something I would like to purchase. I have to say that it is wonderful. I love how it corrects grammar like my blackberry previously did.

However, I am having a problem. I have chosen my input mode as smart keyboard, and when I'm using it in portrait mode on the normal keyboard of my phone, it works fine. However, when I turn my phone to landscape mode and try to use the on-screen keyboard, the keyboard won't come up unless I switch it back off of smart keyboard.

Any idea of why this might be happening? I really wanted to purchase this app, but if it isn't going to work with the on-screen keyboard it won't do me any good.

Thank you all, but never mind. I went through all the settings and found the "ignore hard keyboard" option. Works like a charm at the moment now.
