Re: HTC Desire Z hardware keyboard
On weekends I'm try to install 2.2.1 firmware, then try to find keycode again.
Re: HTC Desire Z hardware keyboard
hi guys.
It was not that perfect as I have expected. We managed to implement the Lang button, but the languages themselves are not mapped correctly for Desire Z hard kb layout. I have Eng/Russian kb and buttons are mapped incorrectly in Russian layout. Take a look for Russian Keyboard app on Market. It offers to choose from nearly six hard keyboard layouts.

The mapping is phonetic layout, as it's the only one which can work on every phone without any problem.
It would just take a little time to implement other layouts, but that would be quite easy.

I'm not sure I get the point about "phonetic" layouts..cyril wrote:The mapping is phonetic layout, as it's the only one which can work on every phone without any problem.

We have hard keyboards with various combinations of local language letters written along with standard English QWERTY buttons. Problem is that different keyboards vendors like Motorola and HTC make there own regional layouts.
In regards to Smart KB, would be great to have a separate screen in settings to select from hard keyboard layouts.

I mean the current implementation is a phonetic mapping: S will give you a С, D will give you a Д, etc. as it's the only mapping which will work on all QWERTY hard keyboards.
But yes I understood you wish to have the same mapping as the native one of your phone, I will work on it.

Re: HTC Desire Z hardware keyboard
I'm tried to find keycode language button at stock 2.2.1 firmware. Nothing. Will be waiting for 2.3.
Re: HTC Desire Z hardware keyboard
Hi there!
Any luck with this feature (mapping to some most popular hardware keyboards) in upcoming releases?
Thanks
