Full size text entry field?

I have a Sprint Evo, loved the trial version so I bought it. But with the pro version each text entry field gets expanded to all of the screen above the keyboard. Why is this? Can I turn it off? I just want to see the regular text field as shown in the webpage or text message I'm in.

You're talking about landscape mode? You can turn it off using the "No landscape fullscreen" option under General Settings :)
