How do you get the t9 text to work? I.e. if I type the word 'for' in t9 mode it comes up as 'dmp' not 'for'. What am I doing wrong???

Have you installed the English dictionary? (and enabled the T9 button?)

I have enabled the t9 button but not downloaded the english dictionary. I am using the trial keyboard to see if I like it before I purchase the full version....could that be the problem?

Yes T9 cannot work if you don't install the dictionary (which is free)...
