Dynamic Resize

There is an option in the settings to enable "dynamice resize" of the keys based on word prediction. I have the setting enabled, but do not notice any keys resizing in either portrait or landscape mode. Am I missing something? I have a Motorola i1 running Android 1.5. Thanks
