The new G2 has a dedicated ".com" hardware key, which produces a rectangle instead of the correct text. This occurs in any text field. Bug?

What is this key supposed to do normally?

Bumping this because I just upgraded to a G2 and am running into the same issue. I am also running Cyanogen mod. The key should be typing either "www" or ".com". Anybody have a fix?
