Hebrew layout misplaces letters on first row to the left

The layout of the hebrew letters in the first row is wrong.
All letters are shiffted one letter to the left.
This is very annoying.
I understand you want to place the backspace in the first row but this is a bad solution.
There are other better solutions. Place the backspace in the second row and move the ending two letters to other places.
This is very annoying and prevents proper typing.
I am using HTC DESIRE android 2.2

Hello
I thought the current layout was quite popular as it's the same as on the iPhone (and I saw it on other phones too), but I understand you can be disturbed by the first row.
So what do you propose? The easiest solution would be to move the backspace to the left of the first row, but it's probably even more confusing. If you want to put it on the second row, where would you move the other letters? Is there a standard (because I don't want to get complains if I change this) solution for that?

Hi Cyril,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I researched the issue and this is what I came up with:
- Yes, you are right oddly this is the Iphone layout.
- The two other common solutions are:
1. Put the backspace in the third row on the right (same place as in english) and move the last right letter to the top row on the left. This is a letter not very frequently used and only at the end of a word.
2. Put the backspace as you suggested on the top left row.
In my mind both solutions are better then the Ipone solution, personaly I prefer the second (backspace on the top left row) as it is the only solution leaving all the letters at their original place.
If you are concerned about mixed views, may I suggest you leave the current layout and add an option to move the backspace to the left side.
Thanks
I Kvoras

The iPhone Hebrew mode not stay after configuring and the BACK button always goes to the left side of the characters.
How to correct it?
I'm with Desire and its not work for me

Kvoras,
I beg to differ - I'm not quite sure what you are referring to - and the change you requested now throws the Hebrew keyboard completely off.
The letters in the iPhone layout are correct and in the correct order - the two "letters" that were supposedly removed from the first row are not even letters - they're symbols on the Hebrew keyboard (the layout begins with "pay" and ends with "kuf' which is correct typing-wise), and hence the change is completely unnecessary. Moving the backspace to the left side of the keyboard per your suggestion is completely unnatural - as a person who touch types in both languages - the backspace is always on the top right, and this makes the keyboard completely unusable in landscape mode.
What was the purpose of requesting this change? You seem to be alone in this sentiment.

I realized afterwards that it was a mistake to make this new layout the default. The problem is that now it's a bit difficult to fix without breaking compatibility with previous versions. I propose to remove this iPhone layout from the settings, go back to the previous layout for everyone, and add an option in the language settings to put backspace on the left.

Hi Cyril,
As I feel responsible for raising the issue:
As android became more common and more hebrew keyboard layouts are now avialable:
The standart solution now is the first solution I suggested and not the second one you pickup:
"
1. Put the backspace in the third row on the right (same place as in english) and move the last right letter to the top row on the left. This is a letter not very frequently used and only at the end of a word.
2. Put the backspace on the top left row.
"
May I suggest that the alternate layout be changed to second solution.:
here is a link to the picture of the now common layout:
