Bug with hw keyboard on Alcatel 909s

Hi,
SmartKeyboard is far and away the best keyboard app I've used with a hardware keyboard. It's the closest I've come to a "blackberry experience" since I came over to Android.
There is is one small bug I've had since I got my Alcatel 909s.

SmartKeyboard Pro with English
Android 2.3.4
Alcatel OT-909s
Hardware keyboard

On my keyboard I have to hit the "fn" key to write the number 0.
Whenever I do so, the next button I press still has the "fn" key applied.
For example, when writing a password like: qb0jf5w (not my real password, just an example) the letter "j" would be replaced by a ' (the result of fn+j). Note that this ONLY happens with the number 0. In the example above, the letter w would be normal not the number 1 (fn+w).

On my keyboard, 0 is fn+sym (symbol).

Thank you,
Martin
