What's the situation with the empty white window appearing below the inbox box in some apps after I send the text? Not happening with other keyboard apps.

I notice this most often in Handcent.

This happens to me all the time too. It started happening when you introduced support for the hard keyboard.

So you have this bar only when using the hard keyboard ? this is normal, this is the bar where suggestions are displayed ... however it should not be empty !
And bu the way did you set the option to suggest with the hard keyboard ?

Actually, I don't have a hard keyboard, I'm just saying I first noticed this behavior when you introduced hard keyboard support.

Sometimes when the keyboard hides (e.g. after pressing the "Done" button), the suggestion bar remains visible at the bottom of the screen. I can get it to go away by pressing the text field again to re-display the keyboard, then pressing the back button on my phone.

I have the following settings enabled:

Vibrate
Auto-capitalization
Quick Fixes
Show suggestions
Contacts dictionary

I get it to go away by hitting the "Back" hard button on the Droid. All it does it make the bar go away which is interesting.

Also, no it happens when using the virtual keyboard.

But you're right, there was a subtle bug with this suggestion bar. It is fixed now
