physical keyboard not working properly

i have a lg optimus slider (virgin mobile) android version 2.3 when i'm using the physical keyboard the numbers is not working properly its going like this WERSDZXC is typing 123456789 instead of QWERTYUIO typing 123456789 an so on the whole keyboard
