Shift key doesn't work properly

Shift key doesn't work properly. At least on my S Galaxy S2. Often I have to press the shift key several times to switch back from capital letters to small letters.
Also, at the beginning of a new sentence it wouldn't switch to capitals as it should, even though I made sure this option was turned on in settings.
Maybe I should mention that I use the T9 mode only. Thanks.
