Unwanted insertion of a suggestion into the next field

When filling a field with my physical keyboard (e.g. create an account), I get a suggestion which automatically inserts itself in the next field when I click on the next field. The only way to clear it, is to touch the suggestion BEFORE navigating to a different field. It's essential that the suggestions be automatically cleared when navigating to the next field w/o me having to touch it first (as it is when using digital keyboard). Or at least I should be able to disable automatic insertions of suggestions.
