Droid Pro and Voice Input button not working

Post by jasonlee »

Hi, love Smart Keyboard, just switched to a Droid Pro and I love the autocorrect options much better than stock or any other keyboard. However, one big issue: the voice input button no longer works for entering text. When you hit the Voice Input button on the physical keyboard (there is a dedicated voice input button on the Droid Pro) it brings up the Voice Search app and not the dialogue to enter text after you have spoken it. From everything I can see there is no option to select anything else through the settings. I really need this feature because I use voice input a lot! I don't want to get rid of Smart Keyboard either because I love how I can do custom auto-correct options. Anyone else having this? Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!!

Droid Pro running Froyo.

Thanks!

I guess the Droid Pro implemented a specific interaction between the hard keyboard and voice input. Do you have the "physical keyboard" option on?

Hi Cyril, thanks for the reply!

I have tried the voice button with both "Physical Keyboard" selected and unselected, and the result is still the same. Actually that option seems to not affect anything really. I've also tried various settings on and off with no success. Everything else works great and I can type with all logical autocorrections occurring including my custom ones. Have other users reported this issue? If not I wonder if it's just something for me? I can't seem to figure it out.

Thanks and have a good day!
