4.2 breaks compatibility with Shortyz

Post by 535 »

After updating to Smart Keyboard Pro 4.2.2 today (I'm not sure what version I was on before, but it was recent), it no longer works with Shortyz, a crossword app and probably what I use most on my phone. ;)

Previously, when I typed a letter, it immediately appeared in the sqaure and advanced to the next one. Now, pressing a letter starts text prediction and won't advance to the next box until I hit space (which happens to change text direction as well). Typing multiple characters simply causes my input to be discarded. The upshot of this is that instead of typing, say, K-E-Y-B-O-A-R-D, I now have to type K-[space]-[space]-E-[space]-[space]-Y-[space]-[space]-B-[space]-[space]-O-[space]-[space]-A-[space]-[space]-R-[space]-[space]-D-[space]-[space].

Between the 4.2 change notes and the sudden involvement of text prediction, it's pretty clear those are the changes which are affecting it, but if there's a setting which would fix this for me, I can't find it. Any chance of a fix? Shortyz was the reason I started using SKP in the first place (for the arrow keys).
