Prediction indicator

I've just installed Smartkeyboard Pro on my wife's Wildfire and cannot get the prediction indicator to glow and it won't go into T9 mode.
No problems with my Desire - can you put me on the right track please.

In which app does it happen? This is normal in text fields in which predictions are disabled (this can be changed with "always suggest" option sometimes)

Thanks for your quick response.
Mostly occurs in stock apps like "Messages" - "Handcent OK" " GMail OK".
I may have solved the problem - delete the program and reinstall it: then tell the inexperience user to stop playing with the settings Grrrrr!!!!!!

It's quicker in the long run.
