double spacebar for period replaces last word with period

Using the double spacebar for period is a terrific feature that has worked for every keyboard except my new LG Optimus LTE. I've tried turning on and off every feature in the predictive section without success. Also the Slattery ductionary (won't catch "smart dictionary") and replaces common words erratically ("off" becomes "moffatt" and "on" becones "In" in the middle of sentences).

Oops turns out the smart dictionary needed the English dictionary installed. That fixed everything. Including the double spacebar issue. Sorry to have brought this up.

Typed to soon. The problem of the double spacebar period option replacing the last word in a sentence with a period still exists for the native email App (but now not in the browser). Any suggestions??
