Suggestions for shift, arrows, autotext

I'm coming from a BlackBerry and Smart Keyboard Pro has been a life saver. With that said, I've noticed a few things that would really make it that much better:
1) Make an option to change how the long press works. Currently it selects the alternate character on a key, but I'd like to see an option to make it type the upper case letter. The option could change the 'shift' key to an 'alt' key: if you have the default setting, it stays a shift key. If you opt for a long press to do upper case, that key changes to 'alt' which you would use to select the alternate character. Either way, a long press or double press on the shift/alt key would select all caps mode.
2) In the arrows keyboard, provide buttons for additional functions like home, end, a toggle for select mode on/off, cut, copy, paste, etc. There is plenty of room on this screen for these buttons, even in portrait mode.
3) I'd like to see a couple of Blackberry-like improvements in the AutoText capability:
* Add a 'smart case' option for each autotext entry; if selected, standard capitalization formatting would be applied to the autotext (i.e. capitalize the start of a sentence), otherwise type the autotext exactly as entered.
* Add variables to the autotext. Not all the ones available on the BlackBerry are necessary, but the ones to delete characters (%b and %B) and the date/time variables (%D and %T) would be really handy for creating dynamic autotext entries.
