Actually traditional characters were already present in the dictionary, but before version 4.3.0 you didn't seem them because the suggestions were truncated....
Have you tried with the latest version?

I realized that traditional Chinese is in fact in the Chinese language pack after 4.3.0. The problem is simplified is always listed first while getting to the traditional sometimes takes a fair amount of scrolling through the suggestions. Would there be a way to have traditional only setting, either separate language packs for simplified and traditional, or a button to filter for only traditional or simplified?

Related to this:
Can you also implement
Zhuyin/Bopomofo(e.g. 你 is ㄋㄧˇ)? This is almost the only input method used in Taiwan for Chinese. If you only include Pinyin, no one in Taiwan will/can use it.
It is also important that some words have different pronounciations in Mainland China and Taiwan, e.g. 垃圾 is laji in China, lese in Taiwan.
Zhuyin is also available with 9 keys.
Additionally, they use
Cangjie. This should be pretty easy, because you just need to do it on a 1-character basis (in contrast to Bopomofo or Pinyin, which works on word basis). 你 is 人弓火. It just uses 26 symbols. There should be complete lists for every character in the Internet, but maybe it is nice to somehow restrict the character sets (e.g. only Big5 character set, Unicode BMP, Unicode SMP (but I don’t think Android has fonts for the SMP), only traditional Chinese, only simplified Chinese etc.). Then there will not be that much unneeded characters popping up.
