Hi,
This is one of the best keyboards I've found and one I will gladly pay for if the following flaws are sorted out:
1) The auto-correct is really not very good. I'm using the T9 keyboard and frequently end up with words like 'dddjdjjj' or other nonsense in the dictionary. I'm switching occasionally to 'Better Keyboard 8' which has fantastic error correction. You almost don't even need to hit the correct keys for it to predict your input correctly! Is it possible to have a look at this product and perhaps learn the type of error correcting they're using and apply it to Smart Keyboard.
2) In landscape mode, in e-mails, there's absolutely no space to see what you're typing. You have a nice big keyboard, yes, but can't see any lines once you start typing and the predictions appear. The Send, Save as draft and Discard takes up a whole link, then the predictions, then it's the keys! I've enabled full screen in landscape mode, but this doesn't seem to make any difference - the task bar at the top is still present. In text messaging, it's also hard to see where you're typing. HTC Incredible S, v 2.2.1
3) I've read in the FAQ about the lag - if this could be improved, that would be great, as there's a noticeable delay when loading the keyboard in a messaging or e-mail app.
Thanks.
Jon.
PS The T9 layout is brilliant (don't keep hitting the '.' every time I'm typing, like I did with HTC's builtin keyboard, and I love the customizable haptic feedback, something that was lacking on my phone.)

Re: Better autocorrect needed and other points
Hi
1) Can you give precise examples so that I can improve something? For your information BK8 is a derivated work of Gingerbread keyboard, so you are just talking about the improvements done by Google in Gingerbread.
2) See this topic, this is a bug (or intended misbehavior...) of HTC Mail client
3) I also have a HTC phone with Froyo, and it's much slower to load the keyboard than my Nexus One. Still trying to understand why...

Re: Better autocorrect needed and other points
Hi Cyril,
Regarding the autocorrect, it just seems absent when typing in T9 portrait mode. So a slight mis-touch on the keyboard, and you'll end up with a junk word and have to start again. My Comparison to BK8 was that the autocorrect seems to work well, and guesses the word you were 'meant' to type even if you hit one or two wrong keys next to the ones you were supposed to hit.
Thanks.
