I do love the fact that things like dont will get corrected to don't. And wont will have won't as its second suggestion because wont is actually a word.
I think it would be nice to expand this so we could type donct to get don't and wonct to get won't (notice that the apostrophe is on the longpress of the c key on the English keyboard). This behavior for all contractions would really help typing them fast and accurately.
First, it allows us an immediate autocorrect to won't from wonct instead of having to choose the second item from the wont suggestion list.
Second, it makes for less ambiguous corrections for misspellings. For example, I'm a VERY sloppy typer. I'm actually going to create another post about that after this... Sometimes when I want to type I'm, I end up actully typing om or on. Om isn't a word, but I'm is on the 3rd suggestions page so not very accessible. On IS a word and I'm is nowhere to be found in the suggestions. We could avoid this whole situation if I could tip off the suggestion engine by trying to type icm and messing up with ocm or ocn. It could then substitute the apostrophe for the c somewhere in it's algorithm and maybe yield some better suggestions.
Would this help anybody else? Does it sound algorithmically feasible? Would it slow down the app?
Thanks for the consideration.
